1. Research

Tue: Thesis Reading Group @Lab
bi-Thu: Lunch Meeting @Lab

12/17 Visiting Scholar Lunch

I was mainly following research related to test-time computing.

Ilya’s Neurips talk was a hot topic—highly recommended.

I got absorbed exploring Anthropic’s MCP (Model Context Protocol) because it was so interesting; time just flew by. Also, the popular VS Code extension Cline (Coding AI Agent) runs on MCP.

2. Life

12/5 Stanford Bridge Dinner
12/8 Computer History Museum
12/22 Hike, BBQ

It was my third visit to the Computer History Museum. I went after hearing they had added a section on LLMs, and I was impressed by how up-to-date everything was.

I also linked the Hai Tou Lao Shi Village website with posts from our WeChat community and migrated the site from AWS to Alibaba Cloud.

12/25-31 Washington DC Trip

I spent 7 days at the end of the year traveling to Washington DC, thoroughly enjoying the free Smithsonian museums. The National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) was my favorite—I spent an entire day there. Renting bicycles turned out to be both convenient and a lot of fun.
